Ananas Anam is a pioneering developer of innovative natural textiles made from pineapple leaves. Piñatex® and Piñayarn® are two textile solutions made from the leaves of the pineapple plant, considered a harvest waste.
Ananas Anam is a for-profit company with a positive social impact, generating jobs in the rural areas of the Philippines and enabling pineapple farmers to diversify their income.
Piñatex® is an innovative, new generation textile material, developed for leather goods and fashion brands as an alternative to synthetic materials. Once the fiber is removed from the leaf, the remaining biomass can be used as natural fertilizer or biofuel.
Piñayarn® is a woven textile created in a closed loop with zero waste, using no water or harmful chemicals, and is naturally breathable and biodegradable.
