Founded in 1956 in the town of La Chapelle-Saint-Luc, in the heart of the Trojan textile basin, Bugis is a French knitter specializing in the manufacture of knitted fabrics for fashion and high-tech equipment for personal protection.
Bugis designs, develops, and manufactures various collections of fabrics based on the knitting technique for more than 60 years, and its collections are destined to the luxury, high-end and mid-range ready-to-wear as well as technical fields such as personal protective equipment, automotive, paramedical, furnishing, etc.
As an active member of the French Knitwear Federation, Bugis is committed to the development of Made in France knitwear in collaboration with its partners, suppliers and customers. The company integrates different textile economic actors of the Hexagon, notably knitting, dyeing, manufacturing, distribution and logistics, while developing an international clientele.
The know-how of its fashion textile division allows the production of a wide range of knitted fabrics including: 1x1 and 2x2 ribbing, jersey, fancy jersey, fleece, reversible double-sided jacquard, velvet bouclette, piqué, milano ottoman interlock, quilted fabrics and lace net glue.
For Bugis, sustainable fashion is no longer an option, and the company is totally committed to reducing its impact on the environment, while developing responsible and sustainable knitwear collections. Thanks to its "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" label, which rewards the excellence of French know-how, Bugis manufactures knitted fabrics in France, in a short circuit, which ensures perfect transparency and traceability of its production chain.
The Bugis collections offer 100% eco-responsible knits, as well as a range of GOTS-certified organic recycled cotton knits. By working mainly with European spinners and by making all its dyes in France, the company guarantees that its knitted fabrics do not contain any substance prohibited or restricted by the REACH regulation.
